How it works
From a book title to a gallery of portraits in four steps.
1. Search
Look up a book by title, author, or character. We search Open Library's catalogue for a match.
2. Book
We read a synopsis and identify the main characters, with a physical description ready for image generation.
3. Style
Pick a visual style — realistic, anime, watercolor, and more — for the whole cast.
4. Result
Every main character is painted in your chosen style. Download them individually or as a ZIP, or share the page.
Credits
Generating portraits costs real money (it calls a paid image model), so it's paid for with credits. Here's exactly how that works:
What a generation costs
Each portrait costs credits, multiplied by how capable the model you picked is — the exact number is always shown before you confirm. Credits are only spent for portraits that don't exist yet.
Revisiting a book
Revisiting a book-and-style combination that's already been generated (by you or anyone else), or is still in progress, is always free — it doesn't cost anything new to generate.
Guests
Browsing without an account limits you to our standard-quality model. Creating a free account unlocks the higher-quality models and its own credit balance.
Privacy
Keeping a result out of the gallery
With an account, you can mark a result as private (+3 credits) so it never appears in the public gallery. Its page keeps working at the same address, though — the link isn't guessable, so this is meant for sharing on purpose (e.g. sending someone a direct link), not as access protection. Anyone who has the link can still open it.
