Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 14, 2026
1. Scope and Subject Matter
These Terms & Conditions govern the use of booktoface.com (hereinafter "Booktoface" or "we") and the purchase of computing credits.
The subject of sale is expressly computing credits (Credits) for use of an image generation service. The subject matter does not include the sale of images or of rights to depicted characters. By purchasing Credits, the user buys exclusively computing capacity to independently generate image content - not finished works, and no usage or trademark rights to literary characters or third-party works.
2. Credits
- Credits do not expire.
- Credits are not transferable to other accounts.
- Credits are not refundable in cash, except under the refund policy in section 4 and the separate refund page.
- Credits already used for a generation are not refunded.
3. Usage Rights to Result Images
Users receive a simple, non-exclusive right to personal, non-commercial use (e.g. private sharing, private display) of the result images generated with their account. Commercial use, resale, or use to create derivative commercial products is not permitted without our express consent.
4. AI-Generated Content
All portraits generated on Booktoface are fully AI-generated. They do not constitute authorized, official, or approved depictions by authors, publishers, or rights holders, but rather interpretations based on automatically processed book metadata.
5. Refunds
Unused Credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Credits already used are excluded from a refund. See the refund page for details.
6. Liability
We strive for reliable operation but make no warranty of uninterrupted availability or of the accuracy of book metadata sourced from third-party providers (Open Library, Google Books).
7. Changes
We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions with effect for the future. The version published at the time of use or purchase governs.
